As I look forward to the promises of a new year, I can’t help but reflect upon this past year. I tend to find New Year’s Resolutions to be quite trivial, but coupled with the cold winter weather and the collective sentiments of introspection we’ve been socialized to partake in during this time of the year, I, too, am guilty of harboring romanticized notions of growth and change, in whichever way, shape, or form that may best suit me. This year, I want to focus on my photography, but more specifically, portraiture. There are a few reasons for this that I’ll explain below.

After realizing I couldn’t focus on getting any work done, I decided to unwind and take some photos with a couple friends. You may view the rest of my photos on Flickr.
Here are select photos from an impromptu after-dinner photo shoot on Saturday, June 25, 2011 while on the Guy West Bridge next to Sac State. You may view the rest of my photos on Flickr.
